Prepare yourself

I’m gonna throw a grenade…

I HATE fads

And fads are more at home in the world of fitness and training

Than anywhere else

So I’m gonna share with you the fads, falsities, fakes, and…

I don’t want this to sound negative…

Nor do I want it to sound like I don’t get it

I do, I’ve done all this and learned the long hard way (so has my back)

So I share with you..

The B.S which is stopping you achieve the fitness, physique and performance you want

FAD #1

Short rests and feeling knackered is the only way to train

As mentioned last week this is probably the biggest…

Most misinformed thing you’re being sold by trainers and mag’s

So much so it pains me to see because its such a simple fix

Just because endurance is trained through high levels fatigue

Strength, power, speed, body tone, are not

FAD #2

Very low carb dieting is the only way to get leaner

What’s low? 50g, 100g, 200g?

Your being informed cutting out carbs to a bare minimum is critical

Sure…

Critical when after 10 days you’re more irritable than a sleep deprived Clarkson

And you crave sugar that much you consume your bodyweight in Cadburys

Yes, cutting carbs to a sufficient level is key in getting leaner

But there’s a difference between this and super low/nearly zero

Which will also compromise any sporting performance

FAD #3

Crossfit approach

Now I think this movement has done some good things

But a lot of people take this too far, dangerously

Like the guy who did dozens of sets of squats, cleans and jumps

With little rest

And could barely move for the next two weeks

Skilled complex exercises are being used, with poor coaching…

Plus a load of fatigue

Which = inferior gains + superior pains

Training is no different to anything else…

It has to be genuinely rationale to be effective

Shame, rationalising lacks big time in gyms and clubs

But that’s why i’m here to fix that 🙂
