Consider this…

Two weeks ago I was sitting in the RBS building in Birmingham city centre on a dark Wednesday evening

 

Some of you will be aware we’re on a special mentoring programme in Birmingham for exciting and promising new businesses…

 

And as part of this we we’re shown a video at the end…

One which resonated a lot with me, and may with you

 

We have so many choices to make each day, and not just with training and nutrition

So much so it can often get overwhelming

 

Someone we coach recently had this with balancing her whole training programme

Running, strength, stretching, recovery, eating, work, family

There are hundreds of choices each day there

 

Even with me, I have so many daily choices to make, a lot of which I consider critical, this could place a huge amount of pressure and stress on me

 

But this video, by a chap called Alan Watts, strips it down bare

 

When you make a decision you can create anxiety…

 

‘Did you think it over long enough, consider enough?’

Yet there’s endless information to consider, so really you could never get this right

But you worry, and think about everything beyond your control and what MIGHT happen

 

This creates doubt and lack of self confidence

Therefore you make mistakes, you don’t take action, you don’t achieve what you want (particularly with your body)

 

The reality is the mistakes we make are often never the things we worry about

When s**t hits the fan, its usually in ways and at times you would never have thought

 

High performers and achievers have a degree of self confidence in not worrying about choice

A trait I’ve seen in the professional athlete, to high flying entrepreneur

 

Confidence in their ability and intuition which makes them take action and not dither like a mole

They know there is no such thing a perfect decision, they don’t worry about what they can’t control and they push on with what they can

 

You can control any of the goals you want to achieve from training

But consider the above.  That way:

 

You will do the work you need to

You will take action

You will take your body and beyond to where you want

You will achieve

 

This is one big reason we provide structure at CP in those we coach, taking the guess work out, reducing the decisions to be made so everyone does take action and does achieve
