Getting back on it?

So the Christmas and new year break is awesome

And well deserved if you’ve been training hard, to deload your body ready to bounce back

Feet up, chill out, relax, beautiful!

 

But a big problem can result from this…

Which can totally stall your progress with your training, nutrition and results

 

And that’s falling totally out of your routine…

The routine which has been allowing you to progress

 

Maybe training 3 times per week on certain days without fail

Stocking up the cupboards with nutritious foods every Thursday

 

And very soon you can find things difficult, and easily slipping

Your strength, your body fat, your physical fitness and well-being slipping backwards

All the hard work made to achieve this, being cancelled out

 

Its something I observed in professional sport as a fitness coach…

An inevitable watershed moment where pre Christmas gains would steadily decline from now, well into the new year

 

Its kind of weird if you think…

Christmas is really the eve, the day and boxing day

Yet, you can fall into a psychological trap of thinking its somehow until January 1st

There’s no rationale reason for you to think this

 

So to get back into the routine this year, earmark this week as your return to training

And know what days and times you will train and commit to them

 

Sure you’re off work and things are different elsewhere, but just adapt…

 

And the powerful thing by starting this week?

 

You’ve begun before 2016, which means the routine is already set for the new year, ready to make big strides with your body and performance
