Monday was a lonnng day

I’d been coaching plenty

Had paperwork coming out my ears

 

And even a bit of stress

(yeah even bullet proof me gets it!)

 

But that evening…

Despite not leaving for home until 10pm

I was pumped

 

Had I hit a late night espresso?

(even im not that mental)

 

Nope…

I’d had a great session with the Birmingham Lions

(female national champion American footie team)

 

You see we covered this one thing…

 

You know technique?

 

That thing personal trainers talk about all the time….

But don’t really make clear why its important

(apart from safety)

 

Well let me tell you why its key…

And its bit more sexy than ‘safety’

(which is as sexy as block of flats)

 

Its key cos’ it FOCUSES THE WORK

Into the the areas/muscles you need to develop

 

As soon as you get lax with technique

It gets diluted by other muscles taking the strain

And ones you don’t want to develop

 

And while it might make you lift more weight

The only thing that’s developing is your ego

(not your body, fitness and performance)

 

So tekkers is key to maximising gains

Yes the ego will need to be wound in

But who will be laughing when your making great gains…
