Is your frequency correct?

70% of gym members within 3 months aren’t training frequently enough to get the results they want

 

Ouch…

 

A brutal fact, as any significant change doesn’t happen overnight, and training frequency is key (number of times you train per week)

 

I do get it though

As not all, but many end up here because they are given part of the solution

 

Just like your GP giving you half of the medicine

 

But that aside, I just wanted to inform you of some key, critical, platinum laced, insight

 

Many years ago back at uni on Sport Science degree programmes they talk about

 

‘The principles of training’

 

This is bread and butter first year stuff…

But is one of the most fundamental, important elements to achieve results from training

 

In this it outlines the key ingredients to get adaptation (results, gains, improvements)

 

It explains how the below elements influence this:

 

  • Volume
  • Intensity
  • Frequency
  • Rest

 

Although not sexy like a supplement with hologram type labelling

Or the latest training fad that has zero rationale to it…

 

Frequency is one of the key parts, and if one part is missing, the rest fall away

 

So to follow this simple yet highly influential message, I’m ending on an equally simple piece of advice for you

 

How often you train each week matters

 

For most this will be 2-4 sessions

And just as important is doing this consistently

 

That’s what gets results in strength, speed, fitness, fat loss, ALL training outcomes…
