I was up bright and early coaching

(or should I say dull and rainy)

 

Last night I watched that programme on BBC2

Where normal people got beasted through US Marines training

 

It was a proper sight of mind of matter

But also what your body is genuinely capable of

Who does all that top secret MOD work on fatigue has shown…

 

When we think we have no more

our muscles are still not fully recruited

 

Particularly when were fatigued and knackered

 

In this programme a number of people gave up

This as the drill sergeant said ‘was a choice’

 

Although things deep in our mind go on which we can’t control

Often when you train you have 4 choices…

 

To continue at the same rate

To continue but at an easier rate

To continue but at a greater rate

Or to give up and stop

 

Often, particularly if you’re not so well trained…

Option 2 and 4 will be most likely

 

If you want to maximise the benefits you get from your training

Greater ability to maximise what your body has = far greater results

 

An easy way to do this is to ask this question constantly…

 

‘Am I really going as hard as I can, if this max’

 

By questioning yourself it keeps this key thing in the forefront of your mind
