This week we’ve had someone join

who is going to be a really good project!

 

One of the things they want to achieve

and is a common theme for people is

MOBILITY

 

Maybe you’re the same?

 

Wanting to feel less back pain…

Not have shoulder soreness…

Not have your neck aching?

 

So how can you solve this?

 

There’s 3 STAGES:

1. Loosen up the soft tissue

 

Using anything like a foam roller

In the right areas…

 

Typically your upper back

(thoracic spine)

 

Quads, hip flexors and glutes

This allows you to benefit more from stage 2…

 

  1. Stretch the right areas

 

To improve range of motion

 

Commonly the same muscle groups above

This doesn’t take long….

If you know the key areas to focus on

 

Stretches to elongate the hip flexors and quads

and to extend and rotate your thoracic spine…

Are fundamental

 

And now the bit everyone OVERSEE’S!…

 

  1. Strengthen the right areas

 

Its all well and good mobilising

 

But everything can easily…

slip back to square 1

 

Strengthening the right muscles helps…

keep your joints pulled and aligned

in the optimal position you want

 

This is why strength training is shown…

to be a highly effective way of becoming

more flexible and mobile

 

MOBILISE- STRETCH –STRENGTHEN

 

Training to address mobility and posture

should be achieved within you main programme

 

Rather than…

 

You being the person who spends more time

stretching in the gym, than doing meaningful work 😉

 

Consequently we factor this work in at C.P

during a brief warm up and/or rest periods

 

Plus assess in our new team member when they join
