And a nicely decorated room creates a nice place to chill and relax
So when it comes to MOBILITY training in the gym, we have a parallel
Performing movements and stretches isn’t entertaining…
There’s’ no weight, no struggle
I mean when was the last time you nailed your hip flexor stretch and let out a WHOOP and high 5!?
It doesn’t mean it’s not important for you
The human body has certain joints which like movement (mobility)
And some which hate it (stability)
So if we go head to toe each main joint prefers a blend of either more mobility, or more stability
Our hips and thoracic spine like mobility, but our lower backs hate it
And its for this reason you need to work on mobilising these key area’s (not everywhere)
Science reveals insufficient mobility at your hips and thoracic spine cause:
- Greater risk of lower back problems
- Greater risk of neck problems
- Greater risk of shoulder problems
- Greater rick of knee problems
- Weaker muscles in areas like your glutes and lower traps
This then has the knock on effect of slowing down your progression, improvements and gains
So today I challenge you to do your hip mobility work 3 times a week or more
Certain people require more than others and in different places, which is why at CP we make this specific to the individual
But I guarantee by stretching your hips and thoracic spine for a few minutes 3 times a week, this will aid your pursuit to achieve a stronger, fitter, higher performing body
Don’t just value the sexy things!
