You probably heard about Leicester City’s truly remarkable championship achievement?
This is quite relevant, as there’s this chap called Mitch
7 years ago when at Leicester Tigers I had an email from this guy
He had finished uni and was looking for strength and conditioning coaching experience
He impressed me with his work ethic and commitment
Consequently he spent 2 years as an intern (unpaid)
And from no where an opportunity at Championship strugglers Leicester City cropped up
He got the role as strength coach…
Down the line he text me disappointed when they got knocked out of the playoffs in the semi finals
But he stuck at it…
Working through the challenges of working in professional sport…
Season on season, day by day, PERSISTENT
And the other day he became a Premier League Champion strength and conditioning coach, as part of a Hollywood type sporting blockbuster
As with training, the outcome you want seem’s a mile off, sometimes you might not even be aware of it
But the true fuel, the fundamental thing which will lead to achievement with your body is PERSISTENCE
I mean for real, how many people do you know who do something for a couple of months and give up?
They claim to not have enough time (while pointlessly trawling Google most evenings)
That its too expensive (when they blow hundreds a month on chocolate, takeaway’s and booze)
That they’re not seeing the results (when they aren’t following their training and nutrition plan)
Nothing, I mean NOTHING happens without persistence
Are you in your career today from just taking a course and walking into it?
No, you likely did lots of studying, interviews, internships, ground work
Do you want to achieve a leaner body?
Greater sporting performance?
Overcome an injury?
If so, your persistence, like Mitch’s is a non-negotiable
I wish I could tell you it wasn’t, but honestly, it is, and why me, Ed and Max give everything we can to support our team members at CP, as long as you step up too
Dave ‘persistent as ever sending you great training and nutrition insight!’ Cripps
