Pushing your Envelope?

Remember I was invited to hear Steve Backley, former GB Olympic Medallist speak?

Well he made an IMMENSE point

And it struck a cord as I see people like you struggling with this when you train

Big Steve (I didn’t call him that by the way)

Spoke about how he strived to always throw that javo spear that little bit further each time

Trying to push his body, step by step to a new level

And this was easy to see, by whether the spear little by little went further

The simplicity of the activity made it crystal clear on his gains and results

Your training should follow this exact same critical path

You need to ensure you almost always pushing your ‘physical envelope’, improving on what you’ve done before

Far too often, people just go through the motions

Thinking just doing something or working will give results

The fact is, that just doesn’t work

The body is no different to your mind…

It needs constant, steadily increasing, more difficult challenges to develop

Would your skills as a cook improve if all you made was beans on toast?

For you to succeed…

Whether that be with tremendous strength and power GAINS…

Or make immense STRIDES in your fitness and body composition…

To tap into your body’s true potential…

You have to keep pushing that envelope

Like we do as coaches at C.P…

This is achieved by writing a detailed individual training programme to set on-going goals each session

But also, by being clear this also requires consistent effort to reach these
