There are many misconceptions in the world…

That fat is what makes you fat…

That if you swallow chewing gum it wraps around your heart

(ok more of a childhood myth)

 

But one in relation to training is about strength

 

Say that 8 lettered word and you might think…

Bulging muscles and oversized men training while grunting lots

Httttts!

 

But in the nicest possible way…

You’re mad to think this…

Just as mad as thinking the moon…

Is made out of that cheese that’s got craters in it

 

Purely cos’…

Strength is main thing which prevents your injuries

From pulling your hammy when running…

To tweaking your lumbar when you bend over

 

It’s also a wonderful thing

Which allows you to perform better and be more effective at…

Running, sprinting, jumping, colliding, throwing

Keeping your joints in better positions to transfer force

And also create more force

 

Plus if you’re more aesthetically motivated

Strength is what creates ‘tone’

Strength creates those angles, curves and points of firmness you want

Strength is the unsung hero in achieving ALL types of physique

(From slim and feminine to broad and athletic)

 

So you can see that strength is for everyone

You, me, everybody

As it’s at the foundation of most outcomes related to physical fitness

 

This is achieved through resistance training

Using the fundamentals I’ve described to you

 

Such as training with compound exercises

Going through good range of motion

Keeping in technically correct positions

Using appropriate intensity

Arranging your exercises and sessions appropriately

 

Obviously this takes time and takes skill

If it was that easy I wouldn’t have spent years coaching this…

To athletes worth millions and to normal people like you and me!

 

As I always say…

Most people can cook a bolognaise

Like most trainers say they can coach strength and conditioning

But most people can’t cook a bolognaise like Jamie Oliver

Just like most people can’t coach strength, fitness and conditioning like me

(and I say that not arrogantly, but based on experience and achievements)

 

However unlike Jamie…

I don’t say ‘gnarly’ every other sentence!
